Ondjiva - A 42-year-old father, resident in the commune of Mucope, municipality of Ombadja, province of Cunene, has been detained since today, Thursday, on charges of impregnating his 17-year-old daughter.
Pregnancy results from repeated acts of sexual abuse.
The citizen was presented to the Public Prosecutor's Office in a preliminary interrogation report and sent to the Guarantee Judge to determine his prison situation.
A teacher by profession, 17 years ago, the citizen confessed to the crime, justifying that the fact was due to excessive consumption of alcoholic beverages, and expressed regret.
He explained that he abused his daughter for the first time in June 2023, when he was drunk.
The injured party revealed that her father had repeatedly abused her since she was 16 years old, and even informed her paternal grandmother who, for family protection, chose to remain silent to avoid arrest.
The teenager appears embarrassed and regrets having relations with her father and is carrying a three-month-old fetus in her.
The victim's mother, Anacleta Maria, who reported the case to the police authorities, said that she realized the fact after finding out about her daughter's pregnancy status.
She disapproves of her husband's practice, highlighting that she has currently opted for break up ties.
