Uíge - The priest of the Catholic Church in Uíge Province, Dário João Baptista, on Wednesday called on believers in that part of the country to live Easter in the spirit of love, peace and reconciliation.
Speaking to ANGOP about the Holy Week, the prelate explained that reconciliation has to be lived day by day, with greater emphasis on Easter.
On the other hand, the priest said that holiness is growing every day compared to previous periods.
He explained that this change in behaviour is due to the various political and economic events that have taken place in the world.
In turn, Father Afonso Afonso dos Santos called for believers to be better prepared for the celebration of the great Easter feast.
For the celebration of Holy Week, the Catholic Church in Uíge will be holding a Chrism Mass, spiritual retreats, holy communion, a public Way of the Cross (from the Cathedral to St Francis of Assisi), and an easter Vigil, among other activities.
Christian Easter is celebrated every year and recalls the crucifixion, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The celebration extends through Holy Week, which began on 24 March and runs until the 31st (Sunday).
