Ndalatando, - At least 167 labor violations were recorded by the General Labor Inspectorate (IGT) in northern Cuanza Norte, the head of IGT's Provincial Services, Ventura Manuel João told ANGOP.
The violations were detected during the "Decent Work" operation, which ran from July 3 to August 1 throughout the country. During the operation, 50 inspections were carried out, covering 1, 048 workers.
Among the violations were the failure of workers to register with Social Security, non-compliance with hygiene and safety rules at work and lack of personal protective equipment.
As a result, 24 fines worth more than three million Kwanzas were imposed and seven companies were suspended from operating, three accidents at work were reported and 40 people came to the IGT to complain about mistreatment by their employers.
The operation focused on companies in the commerce, industry and service sectors. DS/YD/TED/AMP
