Saurimo - The National Directorate of Identification, Registries and Notaries began to collect, Monday in Saurimo, contributions from students, historians and experts in anthropology, to enrich the list of names in national languages.
Onomastics is the study of proper names, their origins, etymological, grammatical, socio-historical, geographical, among other aspects, in one or more languages.
At the beginning of the public consultation, the representative of the National Directorate of Identification, Registration and Notary of the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights, Alfredo Jerónimo, explained that the national onomastic list is a tool that aims to respond to the dynamics of society.
The initiative arises due to the constraints that have been seen in the attribution of names in the country's registry offices, due to the lack of specific criteria, such as vocabulary, in accordance with Law 10/85, he said.
He stressed that the public consultation demonstrates the State's commitment to valuing national identity.
In turn, the interim provincial delegate for Justice and Human Rights in Lunda-Sul, Flávio Miguel, called for greater involvement of experts in the discussion, for graphic harmonization. AT/JW/HD/DOJ
