Luanda - The 2024 National Journalism Award, in the categories of Press, Radio, Television and Photojournalism, was launched, on Friday, by the Ministry of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication (MINTTICS).
According to a note from MINTTICS, the entire selection and evaluation process for the 2024 National Journalism Award, which is intended to be fair, transparent and based on criteria of journalistic excellence, will be guaranteed by the Adjudication Committee and jury, appointed for this purpose, for his recognized merit and suitability.
The jury includes Anastácio de Brito (president of the Adjudication Committee and the Jury), Fernando Tati (jury for the Press category), Arlindo Macedo (Radio), Mariana Ribeiro (Television), Quintiliano dos Santos (Photojournalism) and João Demba (Monitor).
The 2024 National Journalism Award is open to all Angolan journalists, without exception, whether working inside or outside the country, whose works have been published in the Angolan media, between 10 August 2023 and 10 August 2024.
Applications must be submitted to the Adjudication Committee by August 10, 2024, in digital or physical format, by filling out a registration form, which includes membership instructions.
The announcement of the winners of the 2024 National Journalism Award will take place on October 30th and the ceremony to award certificates and trophies on November 30th, in honor of the month of the proclamation of Angola's National Independence.
The winners of each of the categories (Press, Radio, Television and Photojournalism) will be awarded with a certificate, bronze trophy and a monetary sum worth two million and 500 thousand kwanzas.
The runners-up will be awarded with a certificate and a monetary sum worth one million and 500 thousand kwanzas, while the third-placed winners will be awarded with a certificate and 500 thousand kwanzas.
The Ministry of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication invites all Angolan journalists, from Cabinda to Cunene and in the diaspora, to participate in this national competition, in which professional recognition, visibility, professional development, promoting quality journalism and valuing journalistic work.
Established on May 10, 2007, the National Journalism Award, with a free theme within the framework of professional ethics and deontology, aims to encourage and distinguish journalistic creativity and research, promote quality and merit in the exercise of the profession, as well as highlighting the role of journalists in promoting freedoms of the press, expression and information, democracy and the development of Angolan society.PA/DOJ
