Luanda - The Minister of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication, Mário Oliveira, mourned the death of journalist Manuel Esperança from the National Radio of Angola (RNA), which occurred on Monday in Luanda, due to illness.
In a message of condolence sent to ANGOP, the minister stressed that it was with deep pain and dismay that he learned of the death of Manuel Esperança, a distinguished professional in the Social Communication.
“The sudden death of Manuel Esperança leaves a huge void in the Angolan journalistic reference”, the note reads.
Manuel Esperança Simba Dambi was born on 13 January 1978, in the province of Cabinda. He joined the RNA in 1999, having been assigned to the Huila Provincial Radio.
He was the RNA editor in Huila until 2015, when he was transferred to the central office in Luanda and placed to the news department.
In June 2020, he was appointed head of the political editorial department of the news Department and in January 2022 he rose to the position of deputy director of the same area, a role he held until his death. CPM/MCN/TED/DOJ
