Luanda - The minister of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Mass Media, Mário Augusto da Silva Oliveira, addressed Sunday with leaders of the International Community the “Challenges of Artificial Intelligence (AI)”, in a parallel event promoted by Google on the sidelines of 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, which takes place at the UN headquarters in New York.
According to a note from the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Angola at the UN, sent to ANGOP on Monday, the occasion served to debate opportunities and global implications of technologies powered by AI.
The meeting also touched base on how Artificial Intelligence can help transform the work of the United Nations and drive progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda.
The event was attended by James Manyika, Senior Deputy-President of Research, Technology and Society at Google, Amina Mohammed, Deputy Secretary-General of the UN, and Felix Mutati, Minister of Technology and Science of Zambia – along with other international community leaders.
