Luanda - The minister of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Mass Media, Manuel Homem, announced this Monday,in Luanda, the opening soon of a new thematic channel of culture and sport in the Public Television of Angola (TPA).
When intervening in the act of launching the TPA Notícias channel, he said that the new channel arises from the merger of channel 2 and Palanca TV, the latter that passed to the sphere of the State in 2020.
According to the official, the new channel will provide specialized content on the two themes (culture and sport), stressing that “culture
is by definition the essence of a people and must deserve its airtime”.
In another area, he announced another budget of 39 million euros, for the second phase of the TPA modernization programme, approved
by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço.
The first financing, which resulted in the inauguration this Monday, is part of an initial investment of 35.5 million euros, according to minister Manuel Homem.
