Ondjiva - The Minister for Public Works and Territorial Planning, Manuel Tavares de Almeida, on Saturday in Cunene province, announced the maintenance and conservation of national road 105, which links the cities of Lubango (Huila) to Ondjiva (Cunene).
In a section of over 400 kilometres, the road, rehabilitated in 2008, has several holes that make the circulation of people and goods difficult.
Speaking to the press, as part of the visit of the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, to Cunene, the minister highlighted the rehabilitation process of this road as a special attention for the southern region of the country.
Manuel Tavares de Almeida said that special attention will also be given to the conclusion of Ondjiva/Calueque road, passing through Naulila and Oncócua commune (Curoca municipality).
"We are treating, as priority the connections and conclusion of the Ondjiva/ Omala (Cuvelai) road, whose project was approved, and to later connect Cuvelai/ Cassinga/Jamba mining to Okuvango" he said,
Regarding the Xangongo/ Canganda section, he advised the provincial government to rehabilitate this section, with the help of road maintenance kits.
