Malanje - The minister of Social Action, Family Issues and Promotion of Women, Ana Paula do Sacramento Neto, defended on Saturday in the northern Malanje Province the reinforcement of vigilance on children in the digital world, so that they can access content that is appropriate for their age.
Speaking at the International Day of the African Child ceremony marked on Friday (16), the minister stressed the need to create strategies for the digital inclusion of children to be fruitful.
She said that the government continues to work on the "Safe Internet" project, aiming to sensitise and train children and teachers on the proper use of this tool, as well as to promote the denunciation of practices against physical and moral integrity of minors.
The minister said that the government remains focused on reducing the number of children in vulnerable situations, in addition to fulfilling the eleven commitments and other international protocols in favour of the well-being of this group.
On his turn, the provincial governor of Malanje, Marcos Nhunga, assured that he will continue to direct his actions towards the integral development of children, in order to put an end to any practice aimed at violating their rights.
During the ceremony on 16 June, which took place under the motto "Children's Rights in the Digital Environment", children from different social strata received toys, a leisure time as well as lunch.
The 16th of June is celebrated the International Day of the African Child since 1976, in recognition of the Soweto Uprising which took place in Johannesburg, South Africa, as well as for reflection on children who are victims of violence, exploitation and abuse. RM/PBC/MRA/jmc
