Luena - Angolan minister of Social Action, Family and Promotion of Women (MASFAMU) Ana Paula Do Sacramento Neto has been in eastern Moxico province since Tuesday to monitor and assess the implementation of the Integrated Programme for Local Development and Combat Poverty in the region.
The evaluation of the programme is meant to correct shortcomings detected during its implementation, the minister said at the opening of a one-day training course designed for municipal administrators and directors of the provincial offices.
The minister spoke of the need for the executors to master the Computer System for the Management of Actions of the Programme to Combat Poverty (SIGAPCP) to facilitate the dissemination of accurate information on the actions implemented locally.
In turn, the deputy governor for the Political, Economic and Social sector, Victor da Silva, said that in 2022 Moxico benefited from a global package of 3.024 billion kwanzas from this programme, which allowed the implementation of 239 actions.
The minister Ana Paula Neto highlighted the Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries sector, which benefited from 50 actions, consisting of the delivery of work tools, fertilisers and seeds to vulnerable families, as well as the preparation of 28,000 hectares.
At least 51,000 students, from 81 schools attended the Integrated Programme for Local Development and Combating Poverty, according to the official.
The minister is also expected in Lunda Sul province on Wednesday for the same purpose. TC/MS/DAN/NIC
