Luanda - The Minister of Public Administration, Labour and Social Security, Teresa Rodrigues Dias, said on Friday in Luanda that the Government continues to develop actions to ensure the modernization of the Training Units of the National Vocational Training System.
Speaking at the opening of the first workshop on Industrial Welding, the minister explained that pedagogical and training practices are being adapted to the demands of the labour market.
In the area of welding, she mentioned the provinces of Luanda, Bengo, Huíla and Lunda Sul as those that have centers that teach the course in this segment.
The official recalled the commitment made with the beginning of the implementation of the National Qualification System, which has eight qualifications, among them one in the area of metalworking, in a perspective of support to the industry.
“We hope to count on the participation of the private sector, because in this way we will be contributing decisively to greater effectiveness and efficiency of the processes,” she said.
The first workshop on Industrial Welding, held under the motto “welding, a factor in the development of Angolan industry”, in a joint organization between the ministries of Public Administration, Labour and Social Security and the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas.
The event, which closed this Friday, is aligned with the strategy of Angolanization of the industry, with a focus on the Petroleum Sector, a process that essentially involves raising the technical and professional level of national human capital to meet the demands of the market.
“The measure aims to equip them with more skills so that they can better face the market and be more successful when they apply for jobs, as well as be prepared for the world because there are several opportunities emerging around the world and we have to take advantage of these possibilities as well,” Teresa Rodrigues Dias said.
Angola currently has 161 vocational training centers, most of which have recently benefited from improvement and re-equipment.
