Luanda - The Minister of State for Social Affairs, Carolina Cerqueira, said on Friday that the government was committed to improving the social conditions of the population, by implementing social protection programmes for the most vulnerable people.
According to the State minister, who was speaking at the opening of the meeting to launch the project "Improvement of the synergies between Social Protection and Public Finance Management", under the National Development Plan (PDN), the government has outlined objectives, goals and results for the social sectors, in a clear demonstration of the concern to improve and increase social protection in an equitable and sustainable way.
The minister said that the proof is the non-contributive programmes financed by the Government in collaboration with donors in the scope of the fight against poverty and the municipalisation of social action.
Among the social protection projects carried out by the Angolan government, the Social Protection Programme (Kwenda) stands out, which is contributing to improve the quality of life and allow a better social inclusion of the citizens.
The Kwenda is a project designed by the Government for the transfer of a fixed monthly income, in the value of 8.500 Kwanzas and implemented by FAS.
