Uíge – The Minister of Education, Luísa Grilo, defended, on Thursday, the commitment to training physical education teachers in the country, for the development of school sports.
The minister expressed this intention during the closing of the XII National School Games, which took place in the city of Uíge, from the 17th to the 28th of this year, under the motto “School sports a commitment to everyone to build a culture of inclusion and without violence”.
The head of education said it was necessary to invest more and more in physical education classes, which is why teachers will soon benefit from training to better teach classes.
“The rehabilitation of school infrastructures in the field of physical education is underway in the country”, she stressed, having announced the rapid review of the curriculum for this subject, for the benefit of teachers of different modalities.
She recognized that physical education is a breeding ground for the country's future athletes, hence the need to invest in this area of training.
Regarding the XII edition of the National School Games, she considered it positive, taking into account the results achieved.
In turn, the provincial governor of Uíge, José Carvalho da Rocha, highlighted that the event will motivate the region to produce athletes in the future who will stand out at national level in various sports.
The ten winning provinces in football, basketball, handball, athletics, gymnastics and volleyball were awarded with medals and trophies.
More than a thousand athletes from the country's 18 provinces participated in the XII National School Games, competing in various sports.NM/PBC/DOJ
