Luanda – Angola’s National Social Security Institute (INSS) collected over 17.4 billion kwanzas in four months, following a coercive social security collection process underway in the country, the Minister of Public Administration, Employment and Social Security, Teresa Dias has said.
According to the minister, during this period some 3,977 companies were notified, whose overall debt is set at 47.4 billion kwanzas.
The minister added this marks the start of the process for Coercive Collection of Social Security debts under Presidential Legislative Decree, which establishes the Legal Regime for the Regularization and Collection of Debts owed by Taxpayers and Beneficiaries to the Mandatory Social Protection Management Entity.
Speaking at the end-of-year ceremony, the minister said for the 2023-2027 period, the INSS has set the priority of increasing the coverage of Compulsory Social Protection (PSO), with the enrollment of 2.2 million new insured people and 50,000 new taxpayers.
This year, the INSS's overall figures stand at 237,577 contributors and 2.7 million insured people.MGM/VM/MRA/AMP
