Calai - At least 409 women, young people and heads of families from the nine (9) municipalities of Cuando-Cubango benefited, from March 2023 until this month of May, from the "Mamã Levanta" (Raise Your Head Mom) program, through the donation of various food items and equipment.
From the target beneficiary group, of the 500 initially planned for the nine municipalities, kits were delivered to promote small businesses, such as generators, popcorn machines, stoves, gas cylinders, freezers, motorbikes, soft drinks, sugar, wheat flour, eggs and other goods.
The act of the 1st year of implementation of the program, which took place last Thursday, at the headquarters of the municipality of Calai, was guided by the governor of Cuando-Cubango, José Martins.
The governor, on the occasion, highlighted that the results achieved in this first year of implementation of the project are quite encouraging, which motivates the need for other subsequent phases to emerge, as it is contributing positively to improving living conditions.
All that is being done, according to the government official, is to advise beneficiaries so that they can take greater advantage of the “Mamã Levanta” program, mostly those who are starting small businesses, in order to have the necessary firmness and resilience. FF/PLB/CF/DOJ
