Lubango - A passengers’ train of the Moçâmedes Railway (CFM), which was carrying more than 300 tourists from the city of Lubango to Namibe province, collided with a truck near the Nagombe River station, on Saturday, without making casualties.
The accident happened around 9:24 am, when the 36-year-old driver of the Hyundai truck, model HD260 Truck, assigned to the company Cosal, allegedly distracted, tried to cross railroad, at a time when the locomotive arrived at the site and dragged him for more than 50 meters.

The spokesman for the Provincial Command of the National Police of Huíla, inspector-chief, José Nongava, told ANGOP that the accident resulted in minor injuries to the driver, a leaky tank of the locomotive and the almost total destruction of the truck.
José Nongava said that negligence on the part of the truck driver is the main cause of the accident, given that the area is fully signposted, and the driver also used the sound signal.
