Icolo e Bengo - A social project called “As conscientes de Angola”, which aims to support young girls was launched on Tuesday in Icolo e Bengo municipality, northern Bengo province.
According to the project's coordinator, Maria António Cunha, the aim is to bring girls together in four groups, in the municipalities of Icolo e Bengo and Quiçama to receive training in various areas to enable their integration into society.
Maria António Cunha underlined the need to continue to value the workforce that is in greater numbers of women, since development cannot be achieved without this group.
“For this reason, both at school and at home, women must take an active part in daily tasks,” she said.
Sebastiana Martins Neto, president of the Association of Actors Cahve do Saber Angola, on his turn, said the project is funded by the Canadian consulate and aims to work with and support girls, young people and women, taking into account the difficulties they face in accessing schooling, vocational training and entrepreneurship.AJQ/AMP
