Dondo – At least 22,000 families living in Cambambe municipality, Angola’s northern Cuanza-Norte will be included from January in the Strengthening of Social Protection Program (Kwenda).
This follows the signing of a memorandum between the Cambambe Municipal Administration and the Social Support Fund (FAS), within the framework of responsibility for social assistance to needy families.
According to the local director of Registration and Administrative Modernization, José João Domingos, Kwenda is one of the Angolan government's solutions for fighting hunger and reducing poverty by empowering families.
The official added that in the four municipalities covered by the program there are clear signs of improvement in the quality of life of the beneficiary families.
Kwenda has already covered seven of the province's ten municipalities, with Bolongongo, Lucala and Cazengo still to come. MF/IMA/OHA/TED/AMP
