Caxito - The minister of Public Works and Territorial Planning, Manuel Tavares de Almeida, said Friday in the northern Bengo Province that the integrated infrastructures implemented in several provinces of the country will make the cities sustainable, integrative and resilient.
Speaking at the handover of the first phase of the integrated infrastructures project built in Caxito Municipality to the provincial authorities, the minister said that such undertaking will improve the quality of citizens' life.
The minister stated that the city of Caxito needs urban infrastructures, adding that the ministry is working to implement the following phases of the project.
The governor of Bengo, Mara Quiosa, said that this work gave another “face” to the city of Caxito.
The Caxito integrated infrastructures project has a physical execution level of 100 percent.
So far 12 kilometres of urban roads have been built with a wastewater and rainwater system, a retention basin for draining rainwater and adequate public lighting.
In this first phase of the project 500 jobs have been created.
