Luanda – The honorary consul of the Republic of Indonesia in Angola, Vicente Sebastião Inácio, said Tuesday in Luanda that the Indonesian News Agency (ANTARA) aims to establish cooperation with Angola News Agency (ANGOP).
After a visit to Angola's only news agency, Vicente Sebastião Inácio said the first contacts have been made to enable a cooperation protocol to be developed to exchange content and train staff.
In addition, the diplomat said Indonesia intends to strengthen cooperation with Angola in various areas, particularly in education, scientific and industrial development and agriculture, fishing and marine resources.
For the honorary consul, Angola plays an important role in Africa, a fact that leads Indonesia to strengthen socio-diplomatic relations so that the two countries can come closer together from an economic point of view.
Indonesia has been Angola's partner in South-South cooperation since the Bandung Conference held in April 1955.
The two countries have maintained political relations, which were consolidated on August 7, 2001.
Several legal cooperation instruments have been signed, including the Visa Waiver Agreement for Diplomatic Passports and the Memorandum on Political Consultations, as well as the Memorandum of Understanding between the Chambers of Commerce and Industry. ANM/ART/AMP
