Dundo - A 32-year-old man was killed and four others were injured as a result of a fire that broke out on Tuesday in a house in the municipality of Dundo, Lunda-Norte province, said the spokesman of the Civil Protection and Firefighters, Maurício Elalu.
According to the spokesman, the victim died on the spot from carbon monoxide inhalation, while the others suffered first and second degree burns, adding that the fire occurred at dawn in the Txibale neighborhood, on the outskirts of the city of Dundo, due to negligence in the use of a candle to light the fuel in the house.
He said that the injured were taken to the David Bernardino and Materno-Infatil hospitals in the municipality of Mussungue and that the firefighters managed to bring the flames under control.
He stressed that the fire caused material damage, which has yet to be assessed. QB/PA/DAN/AMP
