Uíge - The representative of the northern region of the Assembly of God Pentecostal Church (ADP), Pedro Mitotina, on Monday condemned the acts of vandalisation of public property that have taken place in recent times in this region of the country’
In recent days, unknown people vandalised a 630 KVA Transformer Station (PT) in the Catapa neighbourhood, leaving 600 families without an electricity supply. The same people set fire to one of the distribution cabinets after breaking down the mono-block door.
Speaking to ANGOP, in the city of Uíge, the religious leader said that public assets are the patrimony of all Angolans, regardless of whether they are partisan or religious citizens, and therefore must be preserved for the common good.
He said that the act of vandalising public property has resulted in huge material and financial losses for the state and called on young people to behave in an exemplary way, so as to leave a legacy for future generations.
Pedro Mitotina also said that the Assembly of God Pentecostal Church has been guiding the believers and society in general to have exemplary civic behaviour in relation to public property.
The pastor of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Félix Kiatuta, defended the need for the continuous moralisation of society and the rescue of moral and civic values. NM/PBC/MRA/DOJ
