Benguela - The deputy provincial governor of Benguela for political, economic and social matters, Cátia Cachuco, on Sunday in this city reaffirmed the Government's commitment to cooperating with the Evangelical Congregational Church of Angola, to resolve social problems of the population.
The government official who was speaking during the service that marked IECA's 100th anniversary, stated that the Church is an unquestionable partner of the State, therefore, it is necessary to continue this partnership to solve citizens' social problems.
“The Government of Benguela reaffirms its commitment to providing all necessary support to the church in this regard,” she said.
On the other hand, taking into account the census process taking place in the country, for a better definition of government policies and programs in favour of the population, the governor also asked for IEC's support for its success.
“We ask for the support of the church in raising awareness and mobilizing its faithful to actively participate in this process, receiving and collaborating with the census takers,” said Cátia Cachuco.
As for the governor of Bié, Celeste Adolfo, IECA's social actions are currently visible in the Province of Bié, with three reference missions.
Celeste Adolfo reaffirmed the commitment to continue the existing partnership, with emphasis on projects in the fields of health, education and agriculture.
To Arlete Tchimbinda, vice-president of UNITA, in these 100 years IECA has not only been spreading the gospel for people's salvation, but has also been doing great work for the country's development, especially in the social domain.
She added that the jubilee, whose celebration takes place on the country's coast, should serve as a rejoicing, because it is a moment of joy.
“We ask God that IECA continues to explore this country to bring the message of evangelization to the people”, she said.
The closing of the IECA centenary jubilee, in Benguela province, was witnessed by more than 13,000 believers.
