Malanje – A provincial-level youth award was launched on Thursday in Malanje province with the aim of honoring young talents in various social and knowledge areas.
The event promoted by the Provincial Directorate of Culture, Tourism and Sports, is part of the National Youth Plan approved by Presidential Decree No. 271/2022, of 22 July.
This is to fundamentally recognize young initiatives related to social inclusion, promotion of merit, excellence and competence.
During the launching ceremony, the head of the provincial office, Eunice António, said that the award only includes young people aged between 15 and 35, who live and carry out activities in Malanje, adding that the aim is to sensitize young people for their greater participation in associations and volunteering, as well as in the promotion of patriotism and citizenship.
In turn, the deputy secretary of the Provincial Youth Council (CPJ) in Malanje, Gilberto Moisés António, expressed satisfaction with the initiative, as it will encourage youth to work and showcase their talents in various areas.
However, art and culture practitioners, Francisco Ngola and Manuel Inácio, praised the initiative, highlighting that it represents the value that the government wants to provide to youth.
The award includes the categories of entrepreneurship, associations and youth volunteering, teaching, youth entrepreneurship, resilience and solidarity in the community, culture and arts, invention and innovation, excellence in sport, among others.
The first edition will be held in November this year and the winners of each category will represent the province at the national gala. RM/NC/PBC/MRA/DOJ
