Luanda – Angola is one of Cabo Verde's main partners in the fields of transport, energy and oil, the archipelago's minister for Communities, Jorge Santos said Monday in Luanda.
The Cabo Verdean official made these comments during a meeting granted to him by the Luanda Province deputy governor for political and social sector, Manuel Gonçalves, as part of a five-day visit to Angola.
Jorge Santos revealed that regarding the transport sector the cooperation between the two states is focused on the air and sea domains, as well as in real estate and tourism sectors.
The government official said the contact with the Luanda provincial government was important and served to assess the situation of the Cabo Verdean community living in the capital, Luanda.
In this regard, he thanked the support that Angola has been giving with the aim to include his country's community in the Angolan society, whose current number is of 120,000 citizens.

During the meeting, the parties decided to strengthen cultural bonds between the two peoples, to enhance human capital, as well as to join efforts to create a Cabo Verdean Culture House in Luanda, which is a long-standing desire of the community.
As part of his five-day agenda, the Cabo Verdean minister made contact with his country’s fellow people residents in the Sao Paulo neighbourhood, with Angolan businesspeople, as well as several meetings with Angolan entities.
Meanwhile, political and diplomatic relations between Angola and Cabo Verde were made official on August, 30, 1977.
Since then, they have maintained excellent bilateral relations and commonly integrate several organizations, namely PALOP (African Countries of Portuguese Official Language), the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP), the African Union (AU), among other international organizations where they agree on ideas and positions to be taken in favour of their people.
