Luanda – Angolan minister of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication Manuel Homem appealed on Friday to the Board of Directors of the Angolan Institute of Communications (Inacom) for the need to allow the virtual mobile operation service to be a fact in Angola.
Manuel Homem was speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the new officials of this company and some members of the Board of Directors of the state-run news paper “Edições Novembro – EP”.
He said that the virtual mobile operator service will help speed up the electronic communications sector, and advised the newly sworn in officials for more dedication in the face of new challenges, which, in his view, will be greater.
A virtual mobile operator is a company responsible for providing the delivery of mobile phone services without having its own network, that is, that uses the network of another large traditional operator.
Manuel Homem stressed that Inacom will have special monitoring by the Ministry, to recover its place in telecommunications, as an incumbent operator that supports national telecommunications operators.
“Our desire is fundamental, which consists of taking communications to the whole country with quality and at good prices for the final consumer of electronic communications”, he underlined.
Sworn in for Inacom: CEO Pascoal Fernandes, executive directors Luísa Augusto, Francisco Quininga, Elísio Manuel and Zolana João, and non-executive Meick Afonso.
As for Edições Novembro, the minister swore in Gilson dos Santos Carmelino and Eunice Moreno executive directors, while Drumond Jaime and Cândido Bessa Receado are non-executive directors.
