Sumbe - The governor of Cuanza-Sul, Mara Quiosa interacted with the chieftains on Thursday in Sumbe, in a ceremony that served to 'invite' the traditional power to be part of the articulation of the exercise of governance.
The governor said this was the first action she is carrying out since arriving in the province of Cuanza-Sul last Monday, with the aim of strengthening the relationship with the traditional authorities, taking into account the experience and wisdom they have.
Maria Quiosa pointed out that she wants to work with 'the blessing, the permission and, essentially, with the help of traditional power', giving greater privilege to dialogue, to make the path of governance closer and more participatory.
She recognized the importance of the chieftains in the communities, as they constitute the observers in the articulation with the public power.
Therefore, she said it is important to respect the national culture and work with everyone to make Cuanza-Sul a good place to live.
She recalled that the interaction with the chieftains aimed to repay the euphoric shown by the traditional authorities upon arrival in Cuanza-Sul.
In turn, chieftain Augusto Fiteira, representing the others, was pleased with the governor's visit and ensured to dialogue with the governor, who by the way is the first in the history of Cuanza-Sul to visit the chieftainship. LC/ALH/DOJ
