Dundo - Government institutions, religious and youth leaders in the eastern Lunda Norte should become more involved in the rescue of moral and civic values of the region with aim to consolidate the Democratic State and Rule of Law, the local governor, Ernesto Muangala, said on Monday.
The governor made the statement, while addressing a lecture as part of the celebrations of the 45th anniversary of Angola independence to be marked on November 11.
The official called for the need to work with young people in the communities so as for them to have more respect for people and public goods.
According to Muangala, a Democratic State of Law cannot be built when moral values are not respected, the coexistence in adversity, political tolerance and the preservation of common goods are questioned.
The governor also regretted the vandalism of water pipes, thefts of electric cables, school desks and part of the railroads, which have occurred all over the country in recent times.
As part of the event, the government of Lunda Norte plans to inaugurate, among others, the water treatment and distribution system, the High Polytechnic Institute and a thermal power plant in the municipality of Lucapa.
