Huambo - The governor of the province of Huambo, Pereira Alfredo, on Sunday defended the need for a greater contribution of the Pentecostal Assembly of God in the promotion of development, through messages of faith, hope and social renewal.
Pereira Alfredo, who was speaking at the closing service of the 23 years of evangelization of the Pentecostal Church 'Maranatha Ministry' in Huambo, said that, despite the efforts of the Government, it is important that all the living forces of society also do their part in raising social and economic well-being.
He added that he is inviting the church to walk together with the government authorities in the mission of development of the province of Huambo, with the implementation of actions aimed at combating the crisis, through the creation of new opportunities and horizons.
He valued the partnership of the Assembly of God Pentecostal Church in social actions, with emphasis on helping the Government to protect disadvantaged children.
The governor also highlighted the dimension of the religious institution in education, in the promotion of solidarity, love for others, social peace and national reconciliation.
Pereira Alfredo lamented the fact that there are currently many gospels with preaching contrary to biblical teachings, a situation that needs to be reversed, based on vocations, motivations and the inner strength of each one.
In turn, the representative of the Assembly of God Pentecostal Church, Reverend Gidião Panzo, advised the local authorities for governance, based on biblical principles, aiming to guarantee the well-being of the population.
He reaffirmed the church's commitment to evangelization, pacification of families, harmonization of society and national reconciliation. MLV/JSV/ALH/DOJ
