Luanda - The governor of Luanda Province, Manuel Homem, held this Tuesday a meeting with the leader of the Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ in the World (Tocoistas), Bishop Dom Afonso Nunes, from whom he received information about the preparation of the Annual Pilgrimage to the Sanctuary of Catete.
Speaking to the press, Afonso Nunes said that the Annual Pilgrimage Plan to the Sanctuary of Catete, to celebrate the 89th anniversary of Theophany, takes place on April 17th.
He made it known that the governor recommended the creation of a preparatory commission for the festivities of the anniversary of Theophany, which will include the participation of pilgrims from several African, American and European countries.
According to the Bishop, the visit was fruitful, with the church committed to helping the government of the province of Luanda in raising awareness among the population regarding the situation of disorderly sales in inappropriate locations.
In turn, the governor of Luanda, Manuel Homem, reaffirmed his support for the church in terms to the preparation of the pilgrimage to Catete, as well as informed about the government's intention to name one of the streets in Luanda as “Prophet Simão Toco”.
