Luanda – Angolan singers Matias Damásio, Gerilson Insrael, Preto Show, Rui Orlando and Chetekela are competing in the category of best male artist from Portuguese-speaking African countries (PALOP) at the African Entertainment Awards (AEAUSA).
The AEAUSA event, known as the main ceremony honouring African musicians, is scheduled for 11 November this year in New Jersey, in the United States of America (USA).
The Angolans are competing for the title with other African artists, including Cape Verdeans Nelson Freitas, Djodje and Lisandro Cuxi, Mozambicans Mr Bow and Mark Exodus and Calema from São Tomé and Príncipe.
The nomination of Angolan artists expresses their contribution to the PALOP music industry.
