Luanda – The National Employment Fund (FUNEA) will be launched officially on 6th August this year, announced on Wednesday, in Luanda, the secretary of State for Labour and Social Security, Pedro Filipe.
Approved by the Cabinet Council’s Economic Commission in April 2023, the FUNEA is a tool that aims to guarantee the necessary financial resources for the promotion of public and private initiatives that enable the integration of unemployed newly-trained university graduates in the labour market.
FUNEA is intended to contribute to the promotion of employment, through the mitigation of distortions in the labour market, as well as support attendees of vocational courses and help attract financing for micro and small companies.
According the source, who was speaking at the 9th edition of the Briefing MAPTSS clarification meeting, in the launch act it will be presented all the initiatives that are to be financed through the National Employment agenda.
FUNEA is also intended to be a tool for the improvement of vocational training in the country.
“The State wants to concentrate financial resources in the various employability initiatives across the country, enabling them to be better structured and executed, avoiding the repetition of projects by state or private organs in the same locality”, explained the secretary of State.
Pedro Felipe disclosed that most of the financed projects will cater for young people. “The legal tool will be implemented in quick manner with a view to catering for the needs of young people (...)”, he concluded.
