Luanda - The ambassador of France, Daniel Vosgien, expressed this Wednesday his country's intention to strengthen bilateral cooperation with Angola, in the fields of education, professional training, health, youth and sports.
The French diplomat, who was speaking to the press after an audience with the minister of Youth and Sports, Ana Paula de Sacramento Neto, stated that his country intends to guarantee the youth greater access to health, essential public services, professional training, among others.
Daniel Vosgien said that the main objective of his country is to contribute so that the insertion of young people into society is increasingly effective, mainly for women.
Regarding education, Daniel Vosgien highlighted that France has supported a literacy project at the Escola dos Mulenvos.
On her turn, the Angolan minister, Ana Paula do Sacramento Neto, stressed that she seized the occasion to address issues inherent to projects underway in the country.
"We are waiting for the French embassy to send the memorandum of intentions, to evolve into an agreement," she said.
Currently, the French Embassy and the Development Agency support the project for the spread of women's basketball, which began in the municipality of Cazenga, for a period of two years.
The project, which will be extended to other parts of the country, is valued at 700 million Euros.
Cooperation between Angola and France saw new developments after the official visit of President João Lourenço to the European country, on 28 May 2018.
