Dundo- The governor of Lunda-Norte Province, Filomena Miza, reaffirmed on Thursday the provincial government's commitment to continuing to implement actions aimed at the protection and well-being of children.
Speaking to the press, at the end of the act of donating various goods to children from the "Padre Tiago Brendle" Shelter center, belonging to the Santo Antônio Parish of the Catholic Church, at the headquarters of the municipality of Chitato, she highlighted that the government remains committed to complying with the 11 Commitments to Children.
The governor informed that investments related to the construction of schools and health units with the aim of guaranteeing children's free access to education, as well as medical care, will continue to be a priority of the provincial government.
“We all need to have the responsibility to take care of our children, protecting them from any act of violence, because they are the future of the country”, she stressed.
Filomena Miza announced that the government of Lunda-Norte will help equip another shelter center of the aforementioned religious institution, to welcome more children who are homeless.
In turn, the director of the institution, Gabriel Cambala, was pleased with the initiative, calling on social organizations to do the same thing, as the center is in need of more food, hygiene products, among other needs.
Meanwhile, the shelter center, which currently houses 23 children aged 13 to 19, received a donation of milk, salt, wheat flour, soap, rice, cornmeal, oil and pasta from the provincial governor.
