Lobito - Around one hundred and twenty needy families, from the Kalueque neighborhood, in the municipality of Baía-Farta (Benguela), received a donation from the "Projecto Minha Banda", consisting of basic food baskets, as part of their philanthropic activity, ANGOP learned.
These are kits made up of packages of cornmeal, cooking oil, soap, bleach and other miscellaneous products.
According to the Project coordinator, Mariana Manuel, the objective is to help those people who need it, without looking at who, and to bring a message of hope and opportunities, especially to young people.
"Foreigners who pass through the country value the people and our culture, so we want to show that there is still hope and that Angola has a lot to give to its youth," she explained.
Asked about the acquisition of the means, Mariana Manuel informed that she has asked companies and people to show solidarity with the cause.
"We can't do it alone, hence the appeal to these entities to help people in need", she stressed.
The population of the Kalueque neighborhood lives on fish and at this time is in great need due to the scarcity of this seafood product for some time, according to soba Joaquim Gomes.
On the other hand, elderly Emília Tchapopia, one of the beneficiaries, thanked the gesture and took the opportunity to appeal to people with a good census who have the same attitude.
The "My Band Project" has existed for two years, in Luanda.
The name was inspired by the Angolan vocabulary that means my land, my city or my neighborhood.
This is his first activity outside of Luanda, and he is already planning to move, starting next month, to the provinces of Huíla and Namibe. TC/CRB/TED/DOJ
