When speaking at the opening of the sector's VI Consultative Council, the minister said that these actions also aim to promote gender equality and safeguard human rights.
According to the minister, the ministerial department will continue to work in the areas of conception, promotion and implementation of social policy relating to people and the population in vulnerable situations, as well as the development of ethnic-minority communities.
In turn, the provincial deputy governor of Luanda for the Political, Economic and Social sector, Manuel Gonçalves, highlighted that family dynamics have been increasingly pressured by economic, social and cultural factors.
In this sense, he defended the need to create strategies that strengthen families, offering them the tools and support necessary for their development.
“Social action must be seen from the perspective of inclusion, with the adoption of policies to protect local development and the right to opportunities”, he added.
Under the motto “Strengthened Social Action – Guaranteeing the Reinforcement of Family Skills”, during the event participants will discuss, in three panels, topics related to the valorization of the family and gender equality, the strengthening of institutional capacity, among others.
Lasting two days, participants will also take stock of the actions carried out in 2023 and approve the activity plan for the second half of 2024. AB/MCN/DOJ
