Luanda - The Criminal Investigation Service (SIC) detained three Vietnamese citizens in the municipality of Cacuaco, in Luanda, accused of crimes of criminal association, currency retention and forgery of documents.
The three citizens, detained in the Pecadores neighborhood, range in age from 25 to 60.
In a press release, sent this Tuesday to ANGOP, SIC informs that the investigative action was triggered by the publication of a video on the social media, where they exposed large sums of money in kwanzas.
The aforementioned exposure constitutes crime of currency retention, with strong suspicions of being counterfeit money, and led to the issuance of a search and seizure warrant.
The SIC found, in their possession, thirty passports issued by the Republic of Vietnam with entry visas to the Republic of Angola, with strong signs of forgery, whose holders were not found.
Still on this path, 40 blank international vaccine cards or certificates from the Republic of Angola were seized, the purpose of which was not declared.
The three Vietnamese citizens are also accused of facilitating the illegal entry of their countrymen into Angolan territory.
The detainees will be presented to the Public Prosecutor's Office for legal proceedings.
