Cuito - The Criminal Investigation Service (SIC), on Friday in the city of Cuito, Bié Province, detained a 46-year-old citizen, who pretended to be an agent of the institution with the aim to extort foreign traders.
The information was provided to ANGOP on Monday by the SIC spokesperson in Bié, Simão Lucas Londaca, who highlighted that the suspect carried out the actions in commercial establishments owned by foreign citizens.
According to him, the fake agent, before being arrested, allegedly went to a store where he requested various products equivalent to 30,000 kwanzas and when making the payment, he claimed to be an officer from the Criminal Investigation Service.
However, the owner of the commercial establishment, an Eritrean citizen, tried to discourage the offender and received threats from him, who took the goods without paying.
He added that after the success in his action, the fake police officer apparently went to another establishment with the same purpose, but ended up being reported and arrested.
This is the first case of its kind in the province of Bié. AS/BAN/MS/MRA/DOJ
