Viana – At least three people died and six were seriously injured after the driver of a minibus lost control of the vehicle early Thursday in Luanda's Viana municipality, the National Police spokesperson Nestor Goubel has said.
According to witnesses, the driver lost control of the mini bus hitting and dragging a saleswoman on the side of the road, while the injured were taken to Americo Boavida hospital.
According to the Police spokesperson, the 37-year-old driver lost control of the car due to a probable brake failure and that he is already under Police custody.
The Police officer added that a huge amount of work is being done by the Luanda Provincial government and the National Police to put an end to disorganized sales around the roads and streets.
"But what we feel is that people run away from the proper places created for the purpose and end up selling on the street, running these dangers," Goubel said.
Nestor Goubel called on citizens to avoid selling in unsuitable places, since the effort the government is making is to safeguard people's safety. HDC/ART/AMP
