Viana - Two people died and one was injured today, as a result of the crash of a Toyota vehicle, model Hiace, in the municipality of Viana, in Luanda.
The accident happened close to the level crossing at the entrance to Caop, when the vehicle, which was traveling towards Ponte do 25/Vila de Viana, ran over people who were on the sidewalk waiting for a taxi, resulting in the death of two pedestrians.
Witnesses stated that the vehicle was traveling at high speed, and it is assumed that the brakes had failed.
Of the victims, one is female, who was waiting for a taxi, and one is male, who was a shoe shiner, while the injured person was transported to Kapalanga Hospital.
The driver is already detained at the Viana Municipal Police Command, and the people inside the vehicle were unharmed.
This is the second case of its kind to happen in Viana this month. The previous one involved a Nissan mini-bus that crashed and killed three (3) people and injured other six (6) who were on the sidewalk next to the SGT pedestrian mall.
