Ndalatando- The Minister of Interior, Eugenio Laborinho, Saturday in Cuanza Norte, highlighted the need to reinforce discipline and improve interaction with citizens, in the scope of promoting security, public order and tranquillity.
Eugenio Laborinho urged the staff to respect the rights of the citizens, abstaining from excesses and to prioritise the pedagogical action, under penalty of being subjected to the heavy hand of the law.
The Cabinet minister, who was speaking at the end of a 48-hour visit to Cuanza Norte, expressed satisfaction with the level of organisation and performance of police officers, despite some complaints in terms of promotion, pay and improvement of working conditions.
He said he was pleased with the small number of cases of police officers deviating from the norm in Cuanza Norte.
Regarding infrastructures, he expressed his concern at the advanced state of degradation of the building of the Provincial Command of the Fire Brigade, which includes some offices of the Interior Delegation, and shortcomings in the Prison Services, especially the lack of ambulance, improvement of infrastructures, difficulties in water supply, accommodation of staff and prisoners.
