Huambo – At least thirteen people died and three others were seriously injured last Sunday as a result of a collision between two vehicles, on the Ussoque and Londuimbali section, in central Huambo province, ANGOP has learnt.
According to the spokesperson of the Ministry of Interior Delegation in Huambo, the chief superintendent of the National Police Martinho Kavita Satito, the over speeding and the lack of prudence by the drivers were the main cause of the accident.
The official said that 12 people died on the scene of the accident and another person died on the way to the Municipal Hospital of Londuimbali where the injured are under medical assistance with the plan to be transferred on the same day to the Central Hospital of Huambo.
The chief superintendent of the National Police Martinho Kavita Satito advanced that the accident occurred around 12h30 when a Toyota Hiace vehicle and another Kia Rio collided head on, generating into burning and the carbonization of the first vehicle that was taking several passengers inside.
