Cuito – At least 7 people died and 2 others were seriously injured, last Sunday, as a result of a collision between two vehicles, on the Andula/Nharea road section, on National Road 140.
According to the spokesperson for the provincial command of the national police in Bié, chief superintendent António Hossi, speaking to ANGOP, the accident occurred near the bridge over the Kune river.
The accident occurred when a tractor, after losing its brakes, collided with a van.
In total 6 people lost their lives at the place, while another died when being taken to the hospital.
The injured received medical care at the Andulo municipal hospital.
This is the 2nd accident that has caused several deaths in approximately two months in Bié.
In July this year, 17 people died in Cuíto, capital of Bié, as a result of an accident.
The accident occurred when a runaway truck ran over several people, who were witnessing another accident. AS/PLB/CF/DOJ
