Luanda - The Integrated Public Security Center (CISP) and the international technology company 'Yango' signed, in Luanda, a cooperation protocol to improve the safety and protection of drivers and passengers.
The protocol, initialed last Tuesday, aims to reinforce the prevention and fight against crime in the Angolan capital, according to a press release sent today, Thursday, to ANGOP.
The two entities will work together to improve the control of transport service providers, such as validating driver and vehicle data and supporting users in the event of an emergency.
Police authorities will analyze the criminal record, driver's license, license plate and ownership title of vehicles that use the Yango app to provide transport services.
For the general director of CISP, commissioner Adulcínio Lutucuta, the instrument represents a very important step, given the concerns that have been emerging for some time on social media about insecurity in app-based taxis.
According to the official, the act represents a reference point for the implementation of security policies, with a view to making the taxi service, via app, safer.
For his part, the director of Yango in Angola, Ivan Mugimbo, considered the issue of security to be paramount.
He explained that, with this step, drivers with low ratings or negative comments and recurring absences could be blocked temporarily or permanently, after an investigation. SJ/OHA/DOJ
