Lubango - Five members of the same family died in the early hours of Tuesday morning in the Nambambi neighborhood, Lubango municipality, Huíla province, after a house partially collapsed as a result of the rains in the region.
The information was disclosed by the local fire department spokeswoman, Teresa Abel, adding that the victims were between two and 28 years old, three of them female and that the incident occurred in zone B1 of the neighborhood, when the family was asleep and the neighbor's wall collapsed on their house.
Serafim Mundombe, spokesman of the Angolan Institute for Medical Emergencies (INEMA) in Huíla, said the victims included the mother, who was pregnant, and four children.
The director of the press office of the Lubango administration, Zacarias Chicunga, guaranteed that the families would receive "all the support they need," namely the creation of logistical conditions and the purchase of urns for the funerals. EM/MS/DAN/AMP
