Huambo – Two national citizens were detained a few days ago by the National Police, after being caught vandalizing electrical equipment in the Halavala housing project, in the municipality of Bailundo, Huambo province.
The housing project, inaugurated in May 2022, by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, has a total of 3005 T3 model apartment, with four-story buildings, with eight apartments/each, one and two-story houses, respectively, in addition to 210 stores, in an area of approximately 100 meters.
The information was provided to the press this Tuesday by the head of the Institutional Communication and Press department of the National Police in the province of Huambo, chief inspector Carla Solange Jovany, when mentioning that they were citizens aged 17 and 20, respectively.
She said that those involved were caught by the National Police last Thursday (16) during the dead of night removing 10 lamps and their respective lamps, two circuit breakers and 11 number plates from the doors of some houses.
Carla Solange Jovany explained that the arrest for crimes of theft and vandalism of public property occurred through patrol work in the aforementioned house project, which allowed citizens to be caught removing electrical lighting from the area.
She added that those involved will be present in the coming days before a Public Prosecutor's Office, to hold them criminally responsible.
She called for the population's continued collaboration in denouncing all actions outside the law, for greater security of the population in urban and rural communities.
The Halavala centrality is the 3rd in the province of Huambo, after Lossambo, available since 2017, with 2009 homes, occupied by more than 14,000 citizens, and Fernando Faustino Muteka (municipality of Caála), open to the public in 2020, with 4001 homes and a forecast to house 28,000 residents.
