Huambo – The secretary of the Council of Christian Churches in Angola (CICA) in the province of Huambo, pastor Euclides dos Santos, today appealed to families to reinforce love for others, forgiveness and solidarity during the festive season.
Speaking to ANGOP, regarding the Christmas party (25th December) and New Year's Eve (from 31st December to 1st January), the reverend said that it was a significant moment of celebration and hope for an increasingly better world. and free from evil.
“For this Christmas, CICA wants families to celebrate with a spirit of unity, love, brotherhood, peace, forgiveness, reconciliation, tolerance and solidarity, above all”, he urged.
He highlighted that, as Christians, according to the Holy Bible, Christmas means the birth of Jesus Christ, the savior who came into the world, through the love of God, to save all men.
Therefore, he asked that, despite the economic and financial difficulties that the world and the country, in particular, face, there should be the sharing of the few goods with neighbors and friends, so that no one is left without something to eat.
“If God shared love towards humanity using his only son Jesus Christ, in the same way we Christians are called to share our love, not only in words, but also in rice, bread and other goods, as a little with Christ is a lot and a lot without Christ is nothing”, he said.
Pastor Euclides dos Santos asked citizens to hold vigils and New Year's Eve within the parameters and principles accepted by law, so that there are no disruptions in 2025.
