Saurimo - At least 25 families have been left homeless after the heavy rains that hit the municipalities of Saurimo and Muconda, Lunda-Sul province, destroyed their homes, the spokeswoman for the firefighters, Belita Maria, told ANGOP on Wednesday.
According to the spokeswoman, in addition to the houses, the rains caused the destruction of two churches in Saurimo, and called on the population to observe preventive measures and avoid building in risk zones.
Belita Maria assured that the institution, in partnership with the municipal administrations, is mobilizing financial and material resources to support the affected families.
The firefighter officer recalled that the province has an Emergency Action Plan, coordinated by the Provincial Civil Protection Commission, in coordination with the offices of Social Action, Agriculture, Health, Municipal Administrations, Education and Integral Development, whose mission is to mobilize resources to deal with different disasters.EM/JW /HD/AMP
