Luau - Two people dead, eight injured, total destruction of the mhttps://admin.portalangop.co.ao/wmt-lib/ajax/ext/resources/images/aero/s.gifunicipal hospital, among other infrastructures, are the provisional data of the aftermath of the heavy rains that have fallen in the last 24 hours on the municipal headquarters of Luau, Moxico province.
Filomena Miza Aires, the administrator of the Luau border municipality, said that the rains also demolished a school, 15 public lighting posts, a warehouse for the Benguela railway (CFB) and a number of poorly built homes.
She pointed out that the staff of the Fire and Civil Protection Services (SBPC) continued to survey the damage caused by the rains, as well as the temporary transfer of patients from the damaged municipal hospital to a primary school.
She said that two commissions had been set up, one to look after the transport of patients and the other to work with communities and traditional authorities to survey victims of the disaster.
The provincial governor of Moxico, Gonçalves Muandumba, who moved to the municipality Saturday, heads a technical commission to assess the damage caused by the rains
